Stately manor in the Danish countryside
Surrounded by forest, this neoclassical manor house has been converted into a four-star hotel and conference venue.
Key Facts
More detailed description
The estate, which dates back to the 14th century, has its own lush private park, classical gardens, and even a moat. With 57 rooms and 10 conference rooms, the manor can host parties or conferences for up to 350 people and also welcomes individuals looking for a tranquil getaway. Thanks to its very own windmills, the property is the first and only 100% carbon dioxide-neutral estate in Denmark.
Traditional style with modern amenities
The red-roofed manor itself hosts 9 deluxe rooms, while 18 superior rooms and 25 standard rooms are located in the adjacent historic farm buildings. Many rooms have timber-beamed ceilings, large bathrooms with bathtubs, and panoramic views of the serene, cobbled interior courtyard or quaint footbridge and surrounding forest. All the bedrooms come with Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, and the manor’s several drawing rooms feature leather sofas with board games and puzzles before an open fire, meaning our guests can enjoy all types of entertaining activities. They can also relish the sensory experience of the breakfast room with its cascading arches from the 1600s, and satisfy their love of literature in the library. The hotel restaurant serves classic and modern Nordic cuisine cooked from local ingredients. Outside, children will delight in the playground and picnic areas, and guests can enjoy outdoor dining on the terraces with sun umbrellas or relax on the lounge chairs. In a clearing in the forest, there is a special campsite with 6 sleeping huts, a covered terrace, a large fire pit and barbecue area with tables, a hot spring “wilderness bath”, and a barrel sauna. The pool house, with an indoor heated pool and sauna, is open to all guests and conference delegates.
A state-of-the-art corporate event venue
There are 5 conference rooms in the manor and another 5 in the farm buildings. The smallest welcomes a party of 8, ideal for intimate gatherings such as board meetings, while the largest, often used for screenings, is 365 square meters and can seat 300 people. For a more nature-immersive experience, the eco-friendly cabin in the forest with its wood-burning stove, fire pit, and wooden terrace can accommodate 120 people and would make a lovely and original venue for a PR event or corporate retreat. All conference rooms offer free Wi-Fi along with modern IT equipment. With its romantic rural landscapes, the estate is also a popular wedding venue, and we can cater to ceremonies big and small, in the middle of the forest, or in the charming barn.
Outdoor team-building activities
Whether you are organizing a private holiday or a company event, we can arrange a plethora of outdoor activities to entertain your family or foster team spirit. Guests may enjoy mountain biking or hiking through the forest, canoeing or sailing in the moat, archery, or clay pigeon shooting on the grounds. A climbing park within the estate offers 3.5 kilometres of different level challenges from a climbing wall to a zip wire circuit in the treetops. The park is also home to an extremely diverting 18-hole “football golf” course and a Go Bounce track with interconnected trampolines. Qualified instructors on staff will organize team-building activities and guarantee safe and enjoyable experiences in which to test creativity, communication, and cooperation skills. Additional offsite activities, such as a game of Archery Attack or group canoeing, are perfect for team bonding. Located only an hour’s drive from Copenhagen and Odense, the property is easily accessible from abroad, and transfers can be arranged.
